It is part of the North Port–Bradenton–Sarasota, Florida Metropolitan Statistical Area. == Geography == According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 6.1 square miles (16 km2), of which 5.5 square miles (14 km2) is land and 0.6 square miles (1.6 km2) is water. == Demographics == As of the census of 2000, there were 4,143 people, 1,965 households, and 1,383 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 759.5 inhabitants per square mile (293.2/km2).
